Station #172 <br /> Page3 <br /> effluent, and sample well-head vapor laboratory analytical results are presented in Appendix D <br /> A historical summary of hydrocarbons removed by vapor extraction is presented in Table 3 The <br /> Field Status Reports are included in Appendix C <br /> Groundwater Treatment System <br /> The groundwater treatment system was started in conjunction with the vapor treatment system on <br /> April 26, 2001, and the flow meter started at zero Presently, the remediation system is connected <br /> to groundwater wells MW-10 and MW-1 I Two-down well pneumatic pumps (one in each well), <br /> draws water into a 150 gallon polyvinyl tank which then transfers the water through(2)one thousand <br /> pound canisters with activated carbon, using an air compressor <br /> During this reporting period, the groundwater extraction system treated and discharged <br /> approximately 33,775 gallons as of October 4, 2001, for a total of 61,382 gallons The groundwater <br /> remediation system influent and effluent streams were sampled on July 5, and September 12, 2001 <br /> for TPH-g by EPA method 8015, BTEX/MTBE by EPA method 8021B EPA method 8260B was <br /> used to confirm MTBE concentrations for only the samples collected on September 12, 2001 Field <br /> status reports are presented in Appendix C, and laboratory analytical results for the groundwater <br /> samples are included in Appendix E Historical groundwater system operations are reported in <br /> Table 4 <br /> Summary and Recommendations <br /> The vapor remediation was started on April 12, 2001, and the groundwater remediation was started <br /> on April 26, 2001 for temporary operations A total of 27,183 pounds of hydrocarbons have been <br /> destroyed by the vapor extraction system, and 33,775 gallons of groundwater treated by the <br /> groundwater system <br /> Thrifty requests that the oxygenates sampling scheduled for this site be changed from a quarterly <br /> 54 event to an annual event The proposed annual oxygenate sampling event would take place during <br /> the 1 st quarter of each year, unless otherwise directed by the County of San Joaquin Public Health <br /> Services (CSJPHS) This request is the follow up to a telephone conversation between Mr <br /> Raymond C Fnednchsen(Thrifty representative)and Mr Mike Infurna, Jr on December 14, 2000 <br /> Thrifty is still awaiting a response from the CSJPHS office <br /> Thrifty will continue quarterly groundwater monitoring, gauging, purging and sampling of all <br /> is groundwater monitoring wells, and operation of the remediation system <br />
