a. INTRODUCTION In July 1995, Thrifty Oil Company performed a subsurface site assessment investigation at Thrifty Service Station 172 The site is located at 7647 Pacific Avenue in Stockton, California (Figure 1) This investigation was intended to provide additional information on the extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the subsurface soil and groundwater beneath the site The scope of work for the investigation was presented in Thrifty's Revised Workplan dated December 31, 1993 and in two addenda to the Workplan dated March 3, 1995 and April 16, 1995 This Workplan and addenda were approved by the County of San Joaquin Public Health Services/Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD) This scope of work comprises the second phase of investigation as presented in the Revised Workplan This report presents the findings of the most recent investigation The subject site consists of a retail gasoline sales facility located on the southwest corner of Pacific Avenue and Rivara Road in Stockton Currently, the site maintains an existing cashiers booth with three pump islands located along the southeast portion of the site, parallel to Pacific Avenue Four underground gasoline storage tanks are located in the central portion of the site The size and contents of the tanks are as follows 1 - 12,000 gallon regular gasoline 1 - 10,000 gallon super unleaded 2 - 6,000 gallon unleaded Other subsurface structures beneath the site include three drainage culverts running east/west along the northern property line The site is generally covered with asphaltic concrete with driveways located along the northern and eastern property Imes The site has been operated as a gasoline service station for at least the last 30 years and it is not anticipated that the site usage will change in the near future The site is owned by Thrifty Oil Company but is currently operated by BP Oil Co Page I
