1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> • Tosco Refining and Marketing retained Alisto Engineering Group to collect compliance soil <br />' samples and document removal and disposal of five underground storage tanks, dispensers, <br /> and piping at the former Thrifty Service Station 02479 at 7647 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, <br /> California This report presents the results of soil sampling and analysis and observations <br />' during tank removal A site vicinity map is shown on Figure 1 and a site plan is shown on <br /> Figure 2 <br /> I2.0 SCOPE OF WORK <br />' The scope of work performed during tank closure included the following tasks <br /> + Visual observation of tank removal <br /> • Collection and analysis of compliance soil samples for specific constituents <br /> IAir quality monitoring during tank removal <br /> • Preparation of this report presenting the results of these activities <br /> 3 0 FIELD METHODS AND PROCEDURES <br /> The field methods and procedures were performed m accordance with the requirements and <br /> guidelines of San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) and the California <br />' Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region <br /> 3 1 Underground Storage Tank Removal <br />' On July 21, 1995, five single-walled, steel underground storage tanks were removed from the <br /> site by Advanced Environmental Services, Sacramento, California The locations of the <br /> former tanks are shown on Figure 2 <br />' Before removing the tanks, any remaining product was pumped out The product <br /> distribution system was flushed with water, and the electrical wiring was disconnected <br /> Approximately 1400 pounds of dry ice was placed into the five tanks through the fill ports to <br /> displace hydrocarbon vapor Tank removal was observed by Mr Michael Infurna of the <br /> SJCPHS and Mr Ron Hiltscher of the City of Stockton Fire Department <br /> I <br /> E\0\10-280\TANY_RYr111229s 1 <br />
