P
Work Plan Addendum
PACIFIC AUTO CENTER
25355 North Highway 99,Acampo,California
j
1.0. INTRODUCTION.
11
At the request of Mr. Veer Singh, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (AGE) has prepared the I
enclosed Work Plan Addendum for the Pacific Auto Center site located at 25355 North Highway 99,
Acampo,`California. The location of the site is illustrated on Figure 1 -Location Map. A plan of the
site is illustrated on Figure 2 -Site Plan.
This Work Plan Addendum is proposed to continue assessment of the vertical and lateral extent of
potential petroleum hydrocarbon impacts at the site and is prepared as required by the San Joaquin
County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD). The proposed
investigation is not being required by any regulatory agency.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is located in a rural area of northern San Joaquin County, north of the City of Lodi, near the
intersection of Highway 99 North and Collier Road. The site is presently operated as an automobile
repair facility. s
2.1. UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
AGE has been informed that three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site
in 1978. The former contents and volume of each UST is not known, however, the site was formerly
operated as a Mobil gasoline station. Two concrete dispenser islands are still present at the site. The
USTs were apparently removed from an area north of the former dispenser islands. The area is not
paved. A former waste oil UST was probably located near the garage area;the area is not paved and
has been backfilled with soil and pea gravel.
AGE is unaware of any soil samples collected during the removal of the USTs. However, the former
UST area was re-excavated in 1988 and, according to information and records provided to AGE by
Mr. Singh,no petroleum hydrocarbons were encountered.
2.2. PRELIMINARY SITE ASSESSMENT
On 25 January 1999, AGE advanced two soil probings at the site. Probe boring P was advanced.
within the former UST excavation to a depth of 50 feet bsg. Probe boring P2 was advanced
immediately adjacent to the former waste oil USTs. Samples were collected at five-foot intervals in .
each probe boring.
Advanced G"Eavironmental,Inc. -
