i
ISite Background Information
• Former PACIFIC AUTO CENTER
25355 Nortb Highway 99,Acampo, California
BACKGROUND
The site is located in a rural area of northern San Joaquin County, north of the City of Lodi, near the
Iintersection of Highway 99 North and Collier Road The site is presently operated as a Recreational
Vehicle (R V ) sales and service facility
' UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL
AGE has been informed that three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site
in 1978 The former contents and volume of each UST are not known, however, the site was
' formerly operated as a Mobil gasoline station Two concrete dispenser islands are still present at the
site The USTs were apparently removed from an area north of the former dispenser islands A
former waste oil UST was probably located near the garage area
AGE is unaware of any soil samples collected during the removal of the USTs However, the former
UST area was re-excavated in 1988 and, according to information and records provided to AGE by
prior property owners, no petroleum hydrocarbons were encountered
PREVIOUS SITE ASSESSMENT
On 25 January 1999, AGE advanced two soil probe borings at the site Probe boring PI was
' advanced within the former UST excavation to a depth of 50 feet below surface grade(bsg) Probe
boring P2 was advanced immediately adjacent to the former waste oil USTs Samples were collected
at 5-foot intervals in each probe boring Low concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons were
detected in soil samples collected from P1 at depths of 35 feet, 40 feet, and 50 feet bsg
On 25 and 26 February 1999, and on 01, 02,03, and 05 March 1999,AGE advanced five additional
isoil probe bonngs to approximately 80 feet bsg Three of the five bonngs were completed as
groundwater monitoring wells Hydrocarbon-impacted soil was reported In samples collected from
' three of the five borings Analytical results of soil samples collected from the site are summarized
in Table 1 of this appendix
' Borings B 1, B3, and B5 were completed as ground water monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2 and
MW-3, respectively Between March 1999 and March 2004, ground water samples have been
collected from each monitoring well on twelve occasions Hydrocarbon-impacted ground water has
' been consistently reported in samples collected from wells MW-1 and MW-3
.' The on-site domestic well, as well as domestic wells from surrounding properties, have been
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
