SECOR
International Incorporated
Re: ARCO Service Station 40595
6100 North Highway 99
Stockton, California
The site is located at the southeast corner of the frontage road to North Highway 99 and
Hammer Lane in Stockton, California. The site is currently an active AM/PM mini-mart
and ARCO Service Station.
In accordance with the work plan on file with San Joaquin County Public Health
Department, Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) dated August 3, 1999, the
following work will be performed:
1) the removal of the underground gasoline fuel storage tanks, product lines, and
dispensers;
2) sampling of soil beneath these facilities to evaluate the presence of hydrocarbons in
soil at the subject site; and
3) over-excavation of up 500 cubic yards of hydrocarbon impacted soil above the
groundwater table, if necessary. Applicable permits for the removal activities will be
obtained by ARCO's contractor prior to the start of any work.
Work will be performed during weekday daylight hours. Earth moving equipment may
include a backhoe, an excavator, a loader, and other equipment as appropriate.
Excavated soils and debris that contains petroleum hydrocarbons will be temporarily
stored onsite covered with plastic sheeting, or with approval from the San Joaquin
Valley Air Quality Management District controlled onsite aeration of the soil will be
conducted and resulting clean soil will be reused as fill. Excavation activities will be
observed by SJCEHD and SECOR representatives. Soil samples will be collected and
analyzed per SJCEHD requirements. Upon receipt of sample results, SECOR will
prepare and submit to SJCEHD a letter report summarizing removal activities and
sampling results. Work is anticipated to commence during August 1999.
9912 Business Park Drive, Suite 100, Sacramento, CA 95827 (916)364-1880 (916)364-1889 Fax www.secorcom
