S Y
Lori Duncan
From: Lori Duncan
Sent: Friday, December 08, 2000 4:31 PM
To: 'rbenkosky@secor.com'
Subject: ARCO 595, Work Plan dated 11/30/00
Hey Rusty, I've called a couple of times without making contact so I thought I would send my questions about the work
plan this way.
1. What exactly is meant by saying the borings will be continously logged? It that the same or different from being
continuously cored?
2. Am I understanding correctly that there will be no soil samples for analysis collected from the borings?
3. Will the water samples from the borings definitely be collected by Simulprobe, or are you also considering another
method? If so, what is it?
4. Why are you proposing to collect discrete samples at 75-feet bsg? Two of the wells onsite are screened at this depth
and the water is contaminated. Shouldn't we start deeper?
5. Since you are proposing to use hollow-stem for the borings, wouldn't it be more cost effective to use them to construct
deeper wells? There is documented groundwater contamination to 75-feet bsg already, deeper wells must be installed. It
just kind of seems like a waste to me to fill the borings with cement and then drill more.
Thats what I have so far. I will try calling again on 12/11/00. Lori Duncan
1
