Kennedy/Jenks Consultants
Mr. Tim O'Brien
California Regional Water Quality Control Board
25 August 2006
Page 5
CRWQCB comment 9: Section 2.2 states that a hydrogeological conceptual model will be
developed. Please review the attached guidance on development of numerical models and use
as appropriate.
Response: At this time, a numerical computer model is not needed to assess the fate and
transport of constituents in groundwater. The guidelines put forth by the EPA and USGS in
constructing a hydrogeological conceptual model will be followed. The proposed conceptual
model will use newly acquired field data and additional published hydrogeologic information
from San Joaquin County and the USGS to supplement the descriptions presented in Sections
5 and 6 of the Effluent Limitation Determination Technical Report.
Please call me at (415) 243-2524 should you have any questions or wish to discuss this report.
Very truly yours,
KENNEDY/JENKS CONSULTANTS
rzt
1
Robert S.
