Kennedy/Jenks Consultants
control, at least two existing monitoring wells will be surveyed and the new and historic
coordinates will be compared and used to assess precision.
3.2.2 Groundwater Sampling
An initial sampling of groundwater will be conducted from the monitoring well no sooner than
72 hours after the newly installed monitoring wells have been developed. Groundwater sampling
will be in accordance with the Kennedy/Jenks' SOG for Groundwater Sampling (Appendix D).
Groundwater will be purged from the monitoring wells prior to sampling to obtain samples
representative of aquifer conditions. Field parameters pH, temperature, and electrical
conductivity will be measured and recorded during purging to document stabilization in
accordance with Kennedy/Jenks' SOG for Field Measurement of pH, Temperature and
Conductivity (Appendix E). Purge water from the new wells will be distributed on the ground at
the well site.
Following purging, groundwater samples will be collected into containers provided by a
state-certified laboratory, labeled, kept in a chilled cooler, and delivered to the laboratory under
chain-of-custody procedures. The laboratory will follow their normal turnaround time and internal
quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures during the analysis.
Samples will be analyzed for the following list of constituents consistent with the existing MRP.
• Alkalinity as CaCO3 (EPA Method 310.1, or equivalent)
• Bicarbonate as CaCO3 (EPA Method 310.1, or equivalent)
• Boron (EPA Method 200.7, or equivalent)
• Calcium (EPA Method 6010, or equivalent)
• Carbonate as CaCO3 (EPA Method 310.1, or equivalent)
• Chloride (EPA Method 300 Series, or equivalent)
• Electrical conductivity (EPA Method 120.1, or equivalent)
• Manganese (EPA Method 200.7, or equivalent)
• Magnesium (EPA Method 200.7, or equivalent)
• Iron (Method 6020A, or equivalent)
• Potassium (EPA Method 200.7, or equivalent)
• pH (EPA Method 9040/9045, or equivalent)
• Sodium (EPA Method 6010, or equivalent)
• Sulfate (EPA Method 300 Series, or equivalent)
• Total dissolved solids (EPA Method 160.1, or equivalent)
• Total Kjeldahl nitrogen (EPA Method 351.4, or equivalent)
3.2.3 Residuals Management
Residuals generated as a result of these activities are anticipated to include soil cuttings from
the drilling activities, drilling fluid, decontamination water resulting from well drilling activities,
and purge water from the groundwater sampling. The soil cuttings will be contained at each drill
site and then transported to a designated location onsite for distribution. Drilling fluid will be
distributed onto the adjacent LAA.
Monitoring Well Installation Work Plan, Page 5
Barrel Ten Quarter Circle Land Company, Escalon, California
IISFOIGrou ps11 S-Gro upAdminW ob1031030118.27_BTQC LC109-ReportslMWd nsta 11-WP lnitext doc
