Hwy. 99 E. Frontage Road
Stockton CA 95215
The above referenced site has been assigned to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department's Local Oversight Program for oversight of assessment and clean up activities at
contaminated underground storage tank sites. Investigation of the site to date has included the
advancement of five soil borings, the installation of one groundwater monitoring well (MW-1)and
initiation of quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling.
The analytical results of a groundwater sample collected from MW-1 on November 21, 2006-were
positive for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes and
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA). Previously, grab groundwater samples collected from two of the
soil borings were both positive for 1,2-DCA, though the first groundwater sample collected from
MW-1 was reported to contain no 1,2-DCA. Routine quarterly groundwater monitoring and
sampling of MW-1 must continue until directed otherwise-by SJC/EHD.
Please prepare a work plan to continue the investigation of the vertical and lateral extent of the
documented.petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at this site. The work plan is due for submittal
to SJC/EHD no later than July 13, 2007,
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at(209)468-0337.
Donna-Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department .
Lori Duncan, Senior REHS MargaLagorioOR'EHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Program Coordinator Unit IV
cc: James Barton, CVRWQCB
Art Deicke,AGE
David Evans, Arcadis-BBL
