I have not completed a well destruction with Welenco. Has the EHD allowed this methodology in the
past?Please advise.
Lisa Medina, Senior REHS
1868 E. It cracks or breaks the existing seal
and it increases the potential for over pressure at the surface which causes fly
material.
If the existing seal is questionable, not up to code standards, or known to be currently
damaged, Welenco can modify the blast design based upon accurate information
provided to us. However this does-come with a elevated hazard risk and proper
planning of a containment method for over pressure must be implemented.
Welenco does not, under any circumstance, bring a charge within the upper 20 feet of a
well that has any structure or underground utilities within 100 feet due to seismic
activity that can cause damage to these structures.
If there are any questions or concerns about or methods of well destruction, feel free to
contact me at any time. I would be happy to discuss the options available.
Thank you,
Tylor McMillan
WWTI / Welenco
2
