Hwy 99 E. Frontage Road
Stockton, CA 95215
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed Site
Assessment Report Addendum (Report) dated March 20, 2009, prepared on your behalf
by Arcadis and has the following comments.
The Report documents the installation 'of one soil boring to total depth 150 feet below
surface grade (bsg) to investigate the vertical extent of the petroleum hydrocarbon
contamination documented in groundwater monitoring well MW-1. One grab groundwater
sample collected at 1.15 feet bsg and 14 soil _samples were submitted for chemical
analysis. Laboratory analytical results reported 2,700 micrograms per liter (µg/l) total
petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd), 160 µg/I TPH as motor oil (TPHmo), 4 pg/I
benzene, 1 pg/I xylenes and 3 pg/I tertiary butyl'alcohol in the grab groundwater sample.
Two quarters of groundwater monitoring, sampling and analyses of all five groundwater
monitoring wells currently located onsite have been completed. Reported results indicate
that there is no well located downgradient of impacted MW-1. Please proceed with
submittal of a work plan to install groundwater monitoring wells, both at the shallow
groundwater interface level and at a deeper level to verify the results of the grab
groundwater sample collected at 115 feet bsg, 'located downgradient to MW-1. The work
plan is due for submittal no later than May 15, 2009.
If you have any questions please call Lori Duncan at (209) 468-0337.
Sincerely,
Lori Duncan, REHS Nuel C.
