Box 2468
Houston, Texas 77252
Clayton Project No. 70-04696.00
Subject: Workplan for Site Delineation
Shell Tracy Pump Station
San Joaquin County, Tracy, California
' Dear Mr. Stidham:
This letter has been prepared by Clayton Group Services (Clayton)on behalf of Shell Oil
Company(Shell) regarding the Pump Station referenced above. The Shell Tracy Pump
Station(the Site)is located at 25705 S. Patterson Pass Road, in Tracy California (Figure
1). Specifically, the area designated for investigation is the western portion of the site
(Figure 2),where some potentially petroleum hydrocarbon impacted fill material is
present. Shell is the owner of the facility, and the investigation will take place entirely
within the facility boundaries.
1.0 SITE BACKGROUND
The Tracy Pump Station is located west of Highway 580, and is accessed by a private
' roadway off of West Patterson Pass Road. The Site operates as a pump station, which
helps in the transmission of crude oil through pipelines. The pump station was
constructed in the 1960's.
2.0 OBJECTIVES
Varying amounts of fill have been placed on the western portion of the property, and
Shell has decided to characterize that fill and evaluate the fill for the presence of
petroleum hydrocarbons. The fill thickness is variable, from less than a foot to greater
than approximately 8 feet. Ten borings are proposed at the locations shown on Figure 2,
and are located to provide information on the fill material. The sampling program is
discussed below.
iwww.claytongrp.com
Environmental Services • Occupational Health and Safety • Laboratory Services
