Soil samples will be recorded onto a chain-of-custody document that will <br /> r accompany the samples to the laboratory. At least two soil samples will be selected from <br /> each borehole and submitted for laboratory analyses, one sample based upon field <br /> screening and observation and one sample from the native soil immediately below the <br /> interface. Additional soil samples may be selected based upon conditions encountered <br /> during drilling operations. <br /> r' All borings will be sealed and abandoned in accordance with SJCEHD requirements. <br /> The drill cuttings will be stockpiled on plastic sheeting and covered, and liquids <br /> generated during the investigation will be placed in 55-gallon steel drums, labeled, and <br /> sealed for temporary on-site storage and pending receipt of analytical data to arrange for <br /> disposal at an appropriate disposal facility. <br /> 3.3 ANALYTICAL TESTING OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> ' All samples selected for analysis will be submitted to a California state-certified <br /> laboratory. All soil samples for analysis will be analyzed according to the following <br /> methods: <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) quantified as gasoline (TPHg)using <br /> United States Environmental Protection Agency(USEPA)Method 8015 <br /> Modified(8015M); <br /> • TPH quantified as diesel and crude oil (TPHd and TPHcr)using USEPA <br /> Method 8015M; <br /> ' Selected soil samples from areas of petroleum hydrocarbon impact will also be analyzed <br /> according to the following method: <br /> • Volatile Organic Compounds according to USEPA Method 8260 <br /> • Polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) according to USEPA Method 8270. <br /> • Metals, according to California Administrative Manual (CAM 17 metals). <br /> 4.0 REPORTING <br /> Following receipt and verification of all analytical data, Clayton will prepare a report <br /> documenting field activities, analytical results,conclusions, and recommendations.
