K
Over-Excavation Soil Sampling Results Report and Closure Request
Arch Road Cardlock,4733 South Highway 99 Frontage Road,Stockton,California
Page 3 -
ADDITIONAL PRODUCT PIPE REMOVAL AND SOIL SAMPLING
On June 26, 2003, Apex personnel collected additional soil:samples from beneath former diesel
fuel dispensers located to the southwest of the initial investigation (Figure 2). Three additional
soil samples (5S, 6S, and 7S) were collected and analyzed for TPHd and BTEX. The laboratory k A
analytical results are summarized in Table 1. The laboratory analytical report and COC are
included in Appendix C.
RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS..
Soil samples collected from beneath the former fuel dispensers contained elevated concentrations
of fuel hydrocarbons. Over-excavation of these locations resulted in the removal,of.137.82 tons
of impacted soil from the site.
Very tight inorganic silts with clays were encountered at the base of each excavation.
Groundwater in the vicinity is located approximately 60- to 80-feet bgs." `
Minimal concentrations of TPHd remain in soils at approximately 11-feet bgs.(Table 1).
Therefore, Apex believes that-due to the low concentrations of TPHd remaining in the soil, the
existence of very tight inorganic clayey silt and the nearly 50- to 70-feet of separation between
the excavation bottom and the known groundwater table, the site should be issued a "No Further
Action" letter by the S JCEHD.
REPORT DISTRIBUTION
V Apex submitted this report, in its.final form, to:
Mr. Rich Erickson F
E.
