In this letter, the RWQCB directs Unocal and Montgomery Ward to. <br /> I, Contact and cooperatively work with Delta staff,, by 28 August 2000, to coordinate, assist <br /> and implement all necessary planning, design, construction and startup activities as <br /> required to immediately supply an adequate alternative water source for the RIW. <br /> 2, By 1 September 2000, unless otherwise approved by the Regional Board staff, have in- <br /> place and active, an alternative water source that is capable of supplying the demand <br /> previously required of the RIW. <br /> 3. Continue to actively work cooperatively with the appropriate Delta staff to plan, design, <br /> construct and implement an alternative for the long term solution to the contaminated <br /> RIW. <br /> Based on our conversation, Delta has taken the lead to resolve the issues and action items <br /> associated with items I and 2 above, and EAI stands ready, if needed, to assist Delta in completing <br /> items I and 2.
