A variety of options were discussed, and in light of the newly started
school year the alternative to pursue the short term use of city supplied water with the long term b ing
the installation of a new well appears to be the best alternative at this time.
Therefore, to recap what was discussed and agreed upon by all present at the 18 August meeting:
1. The Robinhood Irrigation Well will be taken out of service as of 6:00 AM on 22 August 2000 at
the direction of Regional Board staff, and will not be put back into use without prior Regi nal
Board approval. (Completed)
2. Delta College staff will research and propose alternative options for irrigation of the college in
case the city water option is not able to be realized or is sufficient to replace the existing dc mand
that was being satisfied by the Robinhood well. Options may include a mixture of activities
including hand watering. (To be completed)
3. Siegfried Engineering,Delta's professional consultant, will expeditiously determine the ability
to, equipment necessary for, projected time frame for implementation of, and proposed costs for
connection to city water at the two existing site city water connections. Board staff have been
informed that as of 22 August, one of the existing city water connections was in operation and
supplying water, but is not capable of meeting the required demands by itself. Also, that a '
second pump was being ordered and should be on-site within a week.
4. A meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, 29 August 2000, to be held at the Delta College
administrative office at 9:00 AM. In addition, should it be necessary based on collected dala and
information, a meeting may be held during the week of 22 August 2000 to expedite the
alternative water use.
5. Air and water sampling will be conducted within specific site buildings and at specific points in
the irrigation supply system by Delta Environmental staff on Saturday, 20 August, or Sundiy,
California Environmental Protection Agency
ea Recycled Paper
