I called Ed Formosa(@937-8779. (fax 937-8708) Ed Formosa told me he would
recommend the two following firms who were local:
Kjeldsen Engineering
or
Seigfreid Engineering
or, if it is necessary to go out of town, the Modesto firm of Thompson-Highseld would be a
possibility.
Ed Formosa also told me that he felt the interconnects were installed as a contingency, for an
emergency--such as this may be--,that they are metered and the City is reading them every moi th,
that there are backflow devices, and that the college may wish to check the plans and drawings. I
read the information to him that Dan Watts had given me. Ed Formosa said he could understan
Dan's reasoning but thought the equipment and system should work.
I asked if there was a way we could turn it on and test. Ed Formosa said he could schedule one of his
staff on the City water crew, Ray Flores, come meet with Dan Watts at 3:00 p.m. today, Thursday,
August 17, 2000 to test it out. I thanked Ed Formosa. I hung up with Ed Formosa and I immediately
called Dan Watts to let him know.
Dan Watts said he would be available at 3:00 today. Dan said he knew the City water staff, Ray
Flores, and would give him a call on his field phone to discuss the matter. I stressed to Dan that it is
very important for legal concerns to actually by the system to see if it works. It is important tha we
not just talk about the system on our end when the City is willing to test it out. From a legal
standpoint, I want to be certain that we've exhibited a total willingness to test the system out.
Thank you,
Toni
Mike Infurna wrote:
hi...got your message. Thank you...I have just sent a copy to Ed Formosa at the City of Stockton
and spoke to him on the phone. He has stated that his department CANNOT handle my request
to assist you with your calculations for the booster pump and assorted piping needs your system
will need to function adequately on the City's water pressure.. He knows of some private
engineering firms and you should call him at(209)937-8779. I'm gone from the office most of
today, and all of Friday. You may leave a message if you'd like...I'll see it Monday, 8-21 when 1
8/17/00
