Unocal #5098 page 2
5606 Pacific Ave., Stockton.
this latest phase of subsurface investigation may not have completed its task to define the extents of
the groundwater plume
Existing directives for this site include quarterly monitoring with reports due at PHS-EHD before
the next sampling event, all reports to have professional conclusions and recommendations, and all
seven (7) oxygenates sampled quarterly for all monitoring wells and the San Joaquin Delta College
Irrigation well.
This recent report submittal is incomplete and does not comply with the requirements and directives
issued by PHS-EHD. Unocal's continued resistance to cooperate with minimum requirements and
directives issued by PHS-EHD is not appreciated and may be interpreted as irresponsible. PHS-
EHD has allowed Unocal over two years to formulate the work plan for this site with the
understanding that the allowance of this time would provide for a thorough plan that would allow
for Unocal to complete the subsurface investigation phase and evaluate remedial alternatives.
Please submit your reports and addendum as previously directed. You may contact Michael Infurna
at (209) 468-3454 if your have any questions.
Donna Heran,REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Michael
-"J.11Infur a Jr., Senior REHS MargareNLagorio,REHS
LOP / Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
MI/
c: CVRWQCB -Mark List, Sacramento.
c: SWRCB CUF- Sandy Gill, Sacramento.
c: S.J.
