ISOIL.VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT STUDY REPORT San Joaquin County <br /> Montgomery Ward Auto Service Center Public Health Services Department <br /> 5400 Pacific Avenue,Stockton, CA Site Code 2163 <br /> feet above the slotted section The remaining annular space will be backfilled using a cement <br /> and bentonite grout For multiple screened sections in the same well, then bentonite chips will <br /> be placed from two feet above the lower screen to two feet below the next higher screened <br /> interval Sand will be placed on top of the bentonite chips to two feet above this screened <br /> interval The above procedure will be repeated for subsequent screened intervals until two feet <br /> above the uppermost screened interval is reached The remaining annular space will be <br />' backfilled using a cement and bentonite grout <br /> At the surface, each well will be connected to a header pipe for extraction and/or a header pipe <br /> for Injection, as specified in the design The header connections of each well will be supplied <br /> with an appropriately sized valve that will allow each well to be isolated for injection or <br /> extraction, as required Flush mounted traffic grates will be placed over each well <br />' SAMPLING EQUIPMENT CLEANING PROTOCOL <br /> The augers used to drill the wells will be steam cleaned between each well The drive sampler <br /> I will be disassembled and decontaminated prior to each sampling using the following <br /> procedure <br /> - All excess soil will be scraped off the sampler parts, <br /> The sampler will be washed in a solution of Alconox detergent and tap water, and <br /> - The sampler will be rinsed with distilled water <br /> EFFLUENT HANDLING <br /> All effluent generated during the course of the Investigation, e g , soil cuttings and equipment <br /> I decontamination fluids, will be sealed in labeled 55-gallon drums The drums will remain on <br /> the site, pending the results of the analytical testing at which time the appropriate disposal <br /> method will be determined <br /> QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL <br /> In addition to the quality assurance and quality control procedures previously described herem, <br /> I one duplicate sample will be obtained and sent to the laboratory for analysis The duplicate <br /> will be handled in a manner identical to the samples collected in the field The laboratory will <br /> not be informed that this sample is a blank <br /> IANALYTICAL TESTING <br /> All analytical testing will be completed by a state of California certified hazardous waste <br /> +.,..+.«.� laboratory.....,+.,.R.
