Updated Site Conceptual Model and Third Quarter 2003 Monitormg and Remediation Report
Cleanu and Abatement Order No 5-00-7fl7 EAI Project No 1232
5.5
Analytical Testing Results
5 5 1 Units A and B Wells
For Units A and B, lower hydrocarbon concentrations were generally observed during this
sampling event when compared to the prior quarters data with the exception of wells MW-11
and MW-12 (see Table 1) Hydrocarbons released by the air sparging activities are currently
being bioremediated before reaching the down gradient penmeter wells MW-9 and MW-27
(see Section 5 5 3)
Figure 14 summarizes the TPH-G, BTEX, and MTBE concentrations in ground water for the
August 2003 ground water sampling event No MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE, TAME, or EDB
above laboratory reporting limits were detected in any of the ground water samples
5 5 2 Units C and D Wells MW-8D MW-23S/D, and MW-24S/D)
Similar or lower hydrocarbon concentrations were generally observed during this sampling
event when compared to the prior quarters data (Table 1) Note a significant decline in
hydrocarbon concentration has been observed in these wells since the RIW was removed from
service in August 2000 (see Section 1 1 4) Further note that, in general, current hydrocarbon
constituents in ground water obtained from these wells are near or below the detection limit
5 5 3 Perimeter Wells
Hydrocarbon concentrations in lateral and down gradient wells MW-5, MW-7, MW-9, MW-13,
MW-14, MW-15, MW-18, and MW-27 were generally near or below the laboratory detection
limit during this ground water sampling event
5 5 4 Cross-Sections A-A' and B-B'
Figures 15 and 16 present cross-sections A-A' and B-B' with the analytical data for the August
2003 sampling event Figure 17 is the cross-section location map
BHM WORD 1232RO351 -8-
