M Gilmartin Project No 1232 <br /> October 7, 1998 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br /> Task 5—Equipment Installation and Start-up <br /> The following steps will be performed under this task <br /> • Procurement of a 350-cfm or equal Skid Mounted Thermal Oxidizer and 30-scfm @ <br /> 30 psfg air compressor according to specifications to be developed It is essential for <br /> the compressor to have the specified discharge pressure because a sparging portion of <br /> the well will be located more than 30 feet below the ground water level to affect the <br /> area containing the trapped free- product The cornpressoi will be provided with a <br /> timer which will allow an spargzng to be performed in a 'pulse" mode Based on <br /> discussions with potential vendors, the cost foi the oxidizes and compressor including <br /> taxes and shipping cost should be in the range of $75,000 If awarded the contract, <br /> EAI will evaluate used equipment and/or lease options <br /> • Installation of the equipment in compliance with appropriates rules and permit <br /> requirements <br /> • Installation of a fence around treatment compound <br /> • Connecting the oxidizer and compressor to correspondent process lines <br /> • Interaction with a local natuial gas supply company and installation and pressure <br /> testing of a supply line from a gas meter to the oxidizer <br /> • Installation of 3-phase electrical lines to the oxidizer and compressor <br /> • Placing ORC in wells MW-3 and MW-4 <br /> • Start-up the thermal oxidizer according to vendor instructions and permit <br /> requirements As described in the CAP, the corresponding field measurements will <br /> be taken and soil gas samples will be obtained and tested <br /> • Start-up the air compressor according to vendor instructions and permit requirements <br /> As described in the CAP, the corresponding field measurements will be taken. <br /> * Adjust the process parameters to achieve the maximum effect <br /> Task 6 —Operation and Maintenance <br /> The following steps will be performed under this task <br /> • Visiting the site on the bi-weekly basis to perform system monitoring <br /> • Adjusting operational parameters based on the field and analytical results <br /> • Providing necessary maintenance according to vendor's operation manuals <br /> I'crfor�.ng analytical control spec.Ifcd in permit conditions <br /> • Replacing ORC bags on the 6-month basis <br /> Task 7 - Reporting <br /> Complete the 60 day start-up report required by the SJVAPCD and quarterly monitoring <br /> reports foi treatment system operation required by SJPHS-EHD Draft copies of all reports <br /> will be submitted for client re`sew and comment, prior to submittal to the regulatory agencies <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT,INC <br />
