Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Subject: Permit For Advancing Soil Borings at the Cargill Molasses Feed Product Facility (Cargill
West) at Port Road No. 8, Port of Stockton, California: Sierra-Pacific Project No. 95-
128.01
Dear Mr. Infurna:
Sierra-Pacific has been authorized by Cargill, Inc. to advance a series of shallow soil borings and
collect soil samples at the Port Road No. 8 feed product facility. Port of Stockton owns the
property, and Cargill is the current lessee. You have a copies of the approved work plan, the San
Joaquin County pink form, the green form, and a check from Cargill for $234.00. Two additional
items required to permit the soil borings are enclosed for your consideration:
• An $89.00 check for the well installation permit.
• A completed San Joaquin County permit application.
Sierra-Pacific would like to proceed as soon as the facility dries out a bit. I am concerned with
potential cross-contamination of lower sediments due to feed product concentrations which may
be present in puddles and storm runoff. Wendy Wyels (RWQCB) has verbally approved the brief
deferment of field work. Please let me know if you need anything else.
Sincerely,
SZioEngineermg
ACIFIC GROUNDWATER CONSULTANTS, INC.
JenEG-1133
S Geologist
JSR/cf
Enclosures
C.
