V
r QUALITY ASSURANCE
Field equipment, truck-mounted augers, soil sampling tubes, and other tools will be thoroughly
decontaminated before being introduced to field sampling areas. . Ground-water samples will
be taken with clean pumps, discharge hoses, and tools. Plastic sheets and paper towels will be
placed beneath sampling tools and containers at each sample locality to preclude accidental
cross-contamination of sampling supplies with surface soil and debris. Water samples will be
labeled, placed in an iced cooler, and transported under chain-of-custody to .an analytical
laboratory.
C
A duplicate water sample will be collected from one of the monitoring wells during each
quarterly sampling event. The duplicate water sample will be assigned a bogus identification
number and collected in precisely the same way as the original water sample. The duplicate
sample will be submitted with other water samples as a means to verify analytical precision.
Blank samples for analytical quality control will be prepared and tested by Sequoia Analytical.
Sequoia Analytical, a California-certified analytical laboratory located in Sacramento, will
perform specified chemical analyses. Sequoia Analytical will provide QA/QC data related to
laboratory protocols. These documents will include surrogate recovery data and analytical
charts that describe routine application of spikes and matrix spike duplicates. Copies of
laboratory QA/QC documents will be attached to Sierra-Pacific quarterly monitoring reports.
L
C
L
r
+
Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc.
