City of Stockton -5- 14 August 1990
At a minimum, the Technical Report must contain the following information:
a) The precise method to eliminate acute invertebrate toxicity. If the
City elects to determine the chemical basis of toxicity then it should
employ EPA/600/3-88/034, EPA/600/3-88/035, and EPA/600/3-88/036
procedures. Alternatively, if the City elects the treatability option,
then the Report must precisely describe the bench-top tests it proposes
to evaluate toxicity removal and cite appropriate references.
b) See I .B. l .b) , above.
c) See I.B. l .c) , above.
2. See I .B.2. , above.
3. See I .B.3. , above.
III. ONGOING TOXICITY MONITORING
The Technical Report submitted by the City recommended the following two
modifications in the ongoing toxicity test procedures: 1) use of static renewal
or flow-through procedures in lieu of the current static test procedures, and 2)
use of an alternative dilution/control water. Staff is still reviewing these
issues and a response will be sent in early September 1990. In the meantime, the
City should continue to follow the same procedures as have been used in the past.
