WASTE DISCHARGE REQUIREMENTS -6- <br /> CITY OF STOCKTON <br /> MAIN WATER QUALITY CONTROL PLANT <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> 9. The Discharger either individually or in combination with other <br /> discharges shall not create a zone, defined by water temperatures or <br /> more than on Fahrenheit degree above natural receiving water tempera- <br /> ture, which exceeds 25 percent of the cross-sectional area of the main <br /> river channel at anytime or place. <br /> 10. The discharge shall not cause a surface water temperature rise <br /> greater than 4 Fahrenheit degrees above the natural temperature of the <br /> receiving waters at any point. <br /> 11 The discharge shall not cause a violation of any applicable water <br /> quality standard for receiving waters adopted by the Board or the <br /> State Water Resources Control Board as required by the Federal Water <br /> Pollution Control Act and regulations adopted thereunder. If more <br /> stringent applicable water quality standards are approved pursuant to <br /> Section 303 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, or amendments <br /> thereto, the Board will revise and modify this order in accordance <br /> with such more stringent standards. <br /> 12. The discharge shall contain no detectable levels of pentachlorophenol . <br /> C. Provisions: <br /> 1. Neither the discharge nor its treatment shall create a nuisance or <br /> pollution as defined in Section 13050 of the California Water Code. <br /> 2. If future studies indicate that additional nitrogen removal is <br /> necessary to protect water quality, the Board may revise and modify <br /> this Order to include more stringent nitrogen limitations. <br /> 3. The City of Stockton Main Water Quality Control Plant, shall dili- <br /> gently pursue and enforce source control of Total Dissolved Solids <br /> (TDS) to minimize the level of TDS discharged and shall furnish a <br /> report no later than 15 February of each year describing the major <br /> sources of TDS and control measures which were taken during the <br /> previous year. <br /> 4. The requirements prescribed by this Order rescind Order No. 79-152, <br /> which is hereby rescinded. <br /> 5. The Discharger shall comply with all the items of the "Standard <br /> Provisions and Reporting Requirements (NPDES)", dated 1 August 1984, <br /> which are part of this Order. <br /> 9. The Discharger may be required to submit technical or monitoring <br /> reports as directed by the Executive Officer. <br />
