Work Plan and Time Schedule for Analyses of Background Groundwater Quality
City of Stockton Regional Wastewater Control Facility
Page 12
• Groundwater Grab Sampling Program Report: A report of sampling activities, with maps and
tabulated results for the grab sampling program will provided within eight (86) weeks after
receipt of laboratory sampling reports.
• Groundwater Data Needs Update Report: Following the tabulation of data from the grab sampling
program, the groundwater data set will be analyzed statistically for normal populations among the
east and west, upper and lower data points. Stratification of salinity, if present, will be
documented and an evaluation of the groundwater degradation from past discharges will be
attempted. If possible, background groundwater values will be nominated for each constituent in
the area of the Oxidation Ponds and conclusions about the impact from past practices will be
drawn. Data from the east traverses will likewise be evaluated statistically, and compared from
one traverse to another with travel distance from the SJR. If possible, a groundwater travel
degradation rate, (e.g., roc mg/L TDS per 1,000 feet of travel) will be estimated from the data.
Correlations of discrete-depth grab samples to monitoring data at each paired monitoring well
will be attempted. Conclusions about the effect different screen length and submergence depths
have on data from different locations will be drawn. Sufficient data to nominate background
values for the new parameters (Na, Cl, B, Fe, and Mn) will not be possible until at least eight(8)
independent samples have been obtained. The report will include recommendations for additional
data that will be needed for the background groundwater characterization work. This report will
include recommendations about pursuing isotope studies or other data needs. This report will be
provided within 8 weeks of completing the Groundwater Grab Sampling Report.
• Background Groundwater Quality Characterization Technical Report. This report will be
provided to the Regional Water Board no later than 2.5 years after commencement of the study.
13.0 TIME SCHEDULE
The time schedule is shown in Table 7.
14.0 LIMITATIONS
Condor developed the interpretations and conclusions presented herein in accordance with generally
accepted principles and practice at the time the work was performed. Subsurface investigation of any site
is necessarily confined to selected locations and may change with time. Conditions may, and often do,
vary between and around these locations. Should previously unrecognized conditions come to light during
future investigation or remediation efforts, additional testing or analysis may be required.
Condor has endeavored to determine as much as practical about the site using conventional practices
given our scope of services. Conclusions presented in this report are professional opinions based on
limited information obtained at the time of our site visits. Condor makes no representation as to the
subsurface conditions at locations or times other than those sampled by our employees and reported in
this document. If any changes are made or errors found in the information used for this report, the
interpretations and conclusions contained herein shall not be considered valid unless the changes or errors
are reviewed by Condor and either appropriately modified or re-approved in writing.
Condor's involvement in the work performed at this site has been limited to observing well installation,
collecting and recording depth-to-water measurements and field parameters; collecting and shipping
samples; compiling data provided by analytical laboratories; and interpreting field data. Condor is not
responsible for the accuracy and completeness of information collected and developed by others.
This report was prepared by Condor under the direct supervision of a Registered Geologist in the State of
California. The report was prepared for MUD (Client) at the request of Steve Gittings. It is for the sole
A
CONDOR
