Box 2009 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Stockton, CA 95201 PERIMIT/SERMCES
Re: Chevron SS#9-6171
6633 Pacific Ave.,
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Snider:
Enclosed is a report dated October 8,1990,which was prepared by Chevron's consultant,Sierra Environmental,
to describe the installation and sampling of four monitoring wells at the above reference site in July and August,
1990.
Analyses of soil and groundwater samples for TPH as gasoline, BTEX, and total oil and grease detected none
of these compounds present above detection limits.
1
MW-4, located within 50 feet of a sewer line, was sampled to analyze for total coliform. An analysis for fecal
coliform will be done during the next quarterly monitoring event.
48"nawlichloroethane was detected in a groundwater sample from MW-5 at 7 parts per billion. As no oil and
grease contaminants were detected, and as there is an investigation of solvent contamination from two nearby
drycleaners, Chevron cannot, at this time, conclude that this low level contamination is a result of Chevron's
operations.
Chevron plans to continue to quarterly monitor this site for three more quarters and then reassess its
environmental activities at the site.
Please direct any questions or comments to Clint Rogers at (415) 842-8658.
Sincerely,
C. G. Trimbach
By T
Clint B. Rogers
CBR/j t:T2-20
Enclosure
cc: Jim Maughan - Central Valley RWQCB
Wilbur Smith II - Sims-Grupe Management Corp.
