Box 2009
Stockton CA 95201
CHEVRON SERVICE STATION #9-6171, 6633 PACIFIC AVENUE, STOCKTON -WORK PLAN
FOR ADDITIONAL SUBSURFACE WORK
We have reviewed the 21 March 1990 work plan for additional subsurface
work prepared for this site by Sierra Environmental Services. One well ,
installed during January 1987, is now dry. The proposed work plan
includes installation and sampling of four additional ground water
monitoring wells.
The work plan appears generally adequate for this site investigation.
However, the proposed time schedule for completing the investigation and
submitting a report is excessive. We believe that the proposed work could
be completed in much less time. Delaying the investigation would allow
the contaminants to migrate further and increase time required for
remediation.
Chevron should be requested to complete the investigation and submit a
Problem Assessment Report by 27 July 1990.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5731 .
THOMAS D. PELTIER
Engineering Geologist
TDP/tdp
