a <br /> 2.0 CONCEPTUAL SITE MODEL <br /> 2.1 Physical Characteristics <br /> The site is located in Lincoln Center at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Benjamin Holt <br /> Drive in Stockton, California Land use near the site and within Lincoln Center is primarily <br /> commercial and residential including three known fuel cases where sources of volatile organic <br /> compounds and specifically tetrachloroethene (PCE) have been identified <br /> The site property (6633 Pacific Avenue) is bordered by Pacific Avenue to the east, Benjamin <br /> Holt Drive to the north, Lincoln Center parking lot to the west, and Tower Records to the <br /> south (Figure 3) Topography at the site is relatively flat, surface water drainage is to the <br /> southeast <br /> In December 1986, the station was remodeled and the product distribution facilities which <br /> consisted of three USTs, a fuel island, and product piping were replaced at the site The <br /> former tank complex was backfilled and the new USTs were located in the southwestern <br /> corner of the site At this time, the station was upgraded and an additional fuel island was - <br /> installed and the former 550-gallon waste oil tank was replaced with a 1,000-gallon tank The <br /> existing service station retails unleaded, premium unleaded, and super unleaded gasoline <br /> The nearest surface water is Fivemile Creek, approximately 3,000 feet to the northwest <br /> Fiveinile Creek flows southwest toward Fivemile Slough, which flows into the San Joaquin <br /> Delta Site elevation is approximately 15 feet above mean sea level (MSL), regional ground- <br /> water flow is to the southwest Groundwater elevations in the Stockton area have declined in <br /> recent years and poor quality groundwater from the San Joaquin Delta has migrated east <br /> toward Stockton Water quality in the Stockton area has been affected and groundwater- <br /> supply wells have been abandoned in the western part of the region New wells have been <br /> drilled in the eastern part of the city and groundwater use has been supplemented by supplies <br /> from the Calaveras River <br /> A well survey (Sierra 1992) was performed for the site using data from the California State <br /> Department of Water Resources (DAR) Using this data, 30 water wells were identified <br /> within 112 mile of the site Two of the wells identified in the well survey, a domestic well and <br /> a municipal well are potentially downgradient of the site These wells are both more than <br /> 1/4 mile southeast of the site <br /> 3201357B1CAP 2 April 4 1995 <br />
