f
Hello Vicki,
Attached are the data tables, field figure, lab reports for the CPT work, and the draft
MIP report for at Jimco Truck Plaza in Ripon, CA. Please see the lab reports for the
comments related to the detections of TPHd. We are scheduled to drill the
additional direct push borings in the vicinity of the former USTs and well MW-6 to
horizontally delineate petroleum hydrocarbons onsite. The grab groundwater
samples collected with the CPT rig have vertically delineated the petroleum
hydrocarbons at the site.
Low concentrations of TPHd were detected in grab groundwater samples CPT-2A
(44-46 ft bgs)and CPT-2C (90-93 ft bgs); however the lab report that these
detections were related to one to a few isolated peaks. Therefore, we ran an
additional analysis with silica gel cleanup for these samples and the results were
non-detect. These isolated peaks are likely due to the degradation of natural
organic material in the subsurface. Today we received the grab groundwater results
for CPT-3A(49-52 ft bgs), CPT-36 (72-75 ft bgs), and CPT-1 D (69-72 ft bgs)and .
low TPHd results were detected in all three. We have asked the lab to run silica gel
cleanup for all three samples. We believe that the grab groundwater samples for
CPT-313 and CPT-1 D will be non-detect when we get these results since these
samples have the same lab comment. Since no elevated concentrations of TPHd
were detected beneath the shallow aquifer we are going to continue with the
approved scope of work for advancing borings to approximately 30 ft bgs. ,
I will call you tomorrow to discuss the investigation results and any of your
comments.
