1
' 12 December 2001
• AGE-NC Project No 98-0433
' 3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in six of the ground water samples analyzed
' TPH-g was detected in the les ground water samples collected from MW-1 MW-2 MW-6> and MW-8
P
' at concentrations ranging from 81 micrograms per liter (µg/1) (MW-8) to 910 gg/1 (MW-1)
TPH-d was detected in water samples from wells MW-1 through MW-3 and MW-5 through MW-8
' at concentrations ranging from 100 µg/1 (MW-3) to 8,900 µg/1 (MW-2)
Benzene, detected only in samples MW-1 and MW-2, had concentrations of 150 gg/I and 3 6 gg/l,
' respectively The other BTEX compounds were detected in the same two samples and the sample
collected from well MW-6 at concentrations as high as 14 fig/] (xylenes in MW-1)
' MTBE was detected by EPA method 8260 in samples MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 4,900
µg/1 and 20 gg/l,respectively,DCPE was detected in samples from well MW-8 at 1 3gg/l, TBA was
detected in samples from well MW-2 and MW-8 at 25µg/1 and 11 gg/1, respectively and TAME was
detected in the sample from well MW-1 at 130 gg/1
Analytical results from groundwater samples are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report(MAI
Lab ID 80453 to 80460), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) and chain-of-custody are
included In Appendix B The distribution of dissolved hydrocarbons is depicted in Figure 4
I
4 0 SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon the data collected during the October 2 1
p g 00 monitoring event, AGE concludes
• Ground water at the site was encountered at approximately 20 26 to 22 04 feet bsg The
prevailing ground water flow direction is generally toward the north by northwest away from
' the former UST area with a low hydraulic gradient
The highest concentration of dissolved hydrocarbons quantified as TPH-g and TPH-d is in
the area of monitoring well MW-1 located adjacent to the former UST area TPH-g and
TPH-d concentrations in ground water decreased in the samples from well MW-1 and
Increased or remained stable in the samples from well MW-2 Generally, BTEX
concentrations increase In samples from wells MW-1 and MW-2 since the last sampling event
• The lateral extent of dissolved hydrocarbons is defined by the current well network, except
surrounding well MW-6, where TPH-d was detected
Advanced GeoEnvtron mental,Inc
