Revised.Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report'- May 1999 <br /> " OLYMPIAN-Jimco Truck Plaza <br /> ' 22502 South Highway 99, Ripon, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. Rusty Firenze of the OLYMPIAN OIL COMPANY, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc.'(AGE) has prepared the enclosed Revised Preliminary Investigation and <br /> Evaluation Report (PIER) for the Jimco Truck Stop, located at 22502 South Highway 99, Ripon, <br /> California (the site). <br /> 1 The scope of work included: establishment of 16 soil probe borings;two hydro-punch water borings; <br /> collection and analysis of soil and ground water samples; installation of five ground water <br /> monitoring wells; and collection of ground water samples from eight wells and preparation of this <br /> report of findings. The location of the site with respect to its surroundings is illustrated in Figure 1. <br /> Buildings and boring locations on the site are illustrated in Figure 2. <br /> This report is prepared in accordance with San Joaquin County Public 'Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board guidelines for subsurface investigations of underground storage tank (UST) sites. <br /> 2.0 SITE BACKGROUND AND UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> The site has been occupied by the Jimco Truck Stop for approximately 30 years. A restaurant, truck <br /> ' wash, repair facility, tire shop and several administrative offices are located on the property. The ; <br /> present fueling facility consists of nine fuel islands,'one UST and several above-ground storage tanks <br /> (ASTs). Three ground water monitoring wells from the Ripon Farm Service`underground storage ; <br /> tank investigation are located on the site, wells MW-6, MW-7 and MW-8 are.depicted on Figure 2. <br /> Three USTs and associated product distribution system were removed from the site between July and <br /> ' September 1998. Details of the UST removals, associated product distribution system and soil <br /> sampling were reported in the Underground Storage Tank Removal Report, dated 22 September <br /> 1998,prepared by Grayland Environmental. Approximately 1,150 tons of hydrocarbon-impacted soil <br /> were excavated from the former UST area, the former dispenser areas, the former piping areas and. <br /> the new UST location. Petroleum hydrocarbons in soil were detected in the north end of the former <br /> gasoline UST and throughout the dispenser locations. Table 1 depicts the analytical results from the <br /> UST removal. <br /> 3.0.
