Public Health Assessment-A•R - 2 _ •
17 December 1997
Sharpe Facility, San Joaquin Co.
We further direct your attention to the information presented on page 19 of the Report. The statement
that"CRWQCB has made a determination that the DCA contamination did not originate from the
(Sharpe) site" is inaccurate. We are currently reviewing the 1997 Annual Progress Report to evaluate
additional data on this subject. Until these data have been reviewed, no determination has been made
and this statement should be revised.
At this time, we formally request an extension until January 30, 1998 before finalizing this report. We
have asked both the Department of Toxic Substances Control and the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency to review this report.
If you have any questions, please call me at(916) 255-3051 or Karen Bessette at(916) 255-3065.
CORI CONDON
Associate Engineering Geologist
Enclosure
cc: Mr. John Guzman- DDJC Sharpe
Ms. Hortencia Muniz- Dept. of Toxic Substances Control
Mr. Michael Wolfram -U.S. EPA, Region IX
Mr. Steve Light- U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Huntsville, Alabama
Mr. Harlin Knoll - San Joaquin County Health
