In accordance with the OU 2 ROD, DDJC Sharpe installed and operated five soil
vapor extraction systems. These systems were operated over a period of two and one-
half years including operation, optimization, and implementing the SVE termination or
optimization protocol (STOP). The STOP or exit strategy included closure/confirmation
soil gas sampling and analysis and vadose zone modeling. The Remedial Action
Report concludes that the SVE systems have met the goal of the OU 2 ROD to prevent
further degradation of the groundwater and to minimize the aquifer cleanup time. The
confirmation samples, collected after asymptotic extraction conditions and both long and
short rebound beneath the siteewillds, show not exceedough the AquifeeliC Cleanup te from vadose zone soils
up Level
ncurs
th the
DTSC concurs that the STOP or exit straeas at DDJC Sha peeen met and .
