S` ho0 UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
A Region 9
75 Hawthorne Street
San Francisco CA 94105-3901
June 5, 2000
Mr. Ronald Allen
Defense Logistics Agency
Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin CA (DDJC)
DDJC-FA, Attn: Environmental, Bldg. 100, Rm 2 (Ron Allen)
P.O. Box 960001
Stockton, CA 95296-0250
RE: Sharpe Depot FFA Schedule, Draft Final Remedial Action
Report, NFA Sites
Dear Mr. Allen,
Thank you for the facsimile transmission of June 1, 2000,
regarding the most current Federal Facility Agreement schedule
for the Defense Depot at Sharpe. We have reviewed the more
recent correspondence and schedule and, as we discussed,
apologize for any error on our part. Contrary to our letter of
May 18, the recent schedule indicates that the deadline for the
subject Remedial Action Report was changed to July 3, 2000, and
is not currently overdue.
We would like to express out concerns, however,' regarding
the potential ramifications of the unresolved funding issues
within the Defense Logistics Agency. EPA is concerned that
funding issues could effect the July 3, 2000, deadline for the
OU-2 remedial action report (NFA Sites) and the subsequent
deadlines established for OU-2 . Please confirm that the latest
schedule and milestones for OU-2 are programmed for funding and
that the milestones in the schedule will be achieved on time .
e
