The OU2 soils SAP presents a field
sampling plan to develop a data set to support an updated HHRA for the Central Area
and North Balloon soils. DDJC-Sharpe's SAP is structured to evaluate the human
health risks posed by Contaminants of Potential Concern to receptors in both the
Central Area and short-term residential base personnel in the North Balloon Area under
the current commercial/industrial land use scenario.
The SAP proposes 24 soil borings taken from two defined areas: Exposure Area 1-
includes most of the Central Area; and Exposure Area 2- encompasses all of the
Residential Housing Units in the North Balloon.
DTSC's Human and Ecological Risk Division (HERD) provided an additional review to
assess the methodology and completeness of those sections concerning risk
assessment. HERD's comments are attached to this letter and should be addressed as
separate responses.
9 Printed on Recycled Paper
