Ground Water FS Report Letter -2- 16 September 1991
DDRW, Sharpe Site
nitrates and total dissolved solids, may be a limiting factor in the selection
of the disposal alternatives for the treated ground water.
These technical concerns, as well as our other concerns discussed in the enclosed
memorandum, must be addressed in the preliminary remedial design. If these
concerns are not adequately addressed prior to the final remedial design, we
cannot provide approval of the final remedial design.
The enclosed memorandum on ARARs is in response to the formal ARAR solicitation.
The memorandum provides specific comments on the proposed remedial alternatives
in the Draft FS Report.
In spite of our major technical concerns, we believe that Sharpe has made a
considerable effort in the areas of data collection and addressing ARARs. We
request that our comments and concerns be addressed in the Final FS Report.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916)361-5670.
CAMILLA WILLIAMS
Engineering Geologist
CKW:cw
Enclosures
cc: Mr. John Hamill , U.
