• <br /> ® INTERNATIONAL <br /> TECHNOLOGY <br /> CORPORATION <br /> July 19, 1969 <br /> Sharpe Army Depot <br /> Mr. Anthony Setum <br /> Chief Operations Division <br /> Building 44 <br /> Lathrop, Ca. 95331-5000 <br /> RE: Emergency Response Analytical Report <br /> IT Corporation Job No. 141516 <br /> Dear Mr. Setum: <br /> The attached information will detail activities during he <br /> emergency response project by IT Corporation to remediate the CB <br /> transformer spill at Sharpe Army Depot. <br /> The scope of work included the following. Three each 100 CVA <br /> transformers on Dower pole catwalk. One transformer leakinq f om <br /> lower seal. PCB concentration of oil is 200 ppm. Due to w nd <br /> direction. one Dower pole was contaminated from approximately a' <br /> to around level. Fire hydrant and miscellaneous debris (_pall is <br /> and wire) were also contaminated. Asphalt area un er <br /> transformer catwalk ( approximately 30' X 40' area) as <br /> contaminated. <br /> IT Corporation was directed to remove all three transformers from <br /> power pole catwalk. Drain PCB oil from transformers and secure <br /> for final transportation and disposal. Additionally, all <br /> contaminated debris were to be packaged for disposal and the <br /> Power pole, fire hydrant and asphalt area were to be <br /> decontaminated. After decontamination wipe samples were to be <br /> taken form the asphalt and a chip sample from the power pole. <br /> Attached is a field activity log which details the seauence of <br /> events during the site cleanup.
