We wish to clarify several points <br /> contained in the summary you provided. <br /> 1) . The Department is evaluating information about the Va11W <br /> Haven property at the request of the property owner. This ; ,1' <br /> evaluation results in recommendations, rather than requirements, <br /> regarding the need for additional information for the purpose of <br /> determining whether or not there is an existing or potential <br /> health hazard on the property. <br /> 2) . The purpose of additional soil gas monitoring is to evaluate <br /> all the potential sources of soil gas, which include irrigation <br /> water, ground water, and lateral migration. <br /> 3) . Additional groundwater data will be used to evaluate whether <br /> wow <br /> contamination extends to well 520A. Jim Pinasco of our regional <br /> office, will check the availability of this data. <br /> 4) . It is important that any workplan that is developed begin <br /> with a clear statement of the objectives of the project.
