DTSC's position is the
fact sheet doesn't adequately address the community's and DTSC's concerns regarding
the status of the environmental and long-term hazards associated with DDJC-Sharpe's
offsite Tricholorethene (TCE) plume. DDJC-Sharpe's fact sheet should provide concise
factual information concerning the true extent of contamination and any long-term
hazards associated with the DDJC-Sharpe's resulting groundwater contamination.
Areas of Disagreement with Fact Sheet#5:
1.) Page 3, DDJC-Sharpe Fact Sheet# 5, Summary of the Five-Year Review
Report, first bullet, second sentence; The section mentions that DDJC-Sharpe
"has addressed all immediate hazards to the environment; and has brought all
long-term hazards under control."
Response:
• DDJC-Sharpe has a TCE plume that has continued to migrate offsite in a
northwesterly direction along the Central Area towards a residential
development.
• DDJC-Sharpe currently does not have hydraulic control of the plume.
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Printed on Recycled Paper
