ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> Environmental Protection Division PERMIYSERVUC <br /> Building S-108, Sharpe Facility <br /> Defense Distribution Region West <br /> Lathrop, California 95331 <br /> MODELING REPORT RESPONSE TO COMMENTS <br /> Dear Mr. Haines: <br /> On February 12, 1993 , Defense Distribution Region West, <br /> Sharpe Facility (Sharpe) submitted to the Department of Toxic <br /> Substances Control (Department) the Response to Agency Comments <br /> on: <br /> "Remedial Well-Field Design Using Three-Dimensional <br /> Groundwater Flow and Transport Modeling Report, " <br /> Engineering Technologies Associates, September, 1992 <br /> (hereinafter "Modeling Report") . <br /> The Department has reviewed Sharpe's Response to Agency <br /> Comments. Sharpe has not fully addressed the Department's <br /> comments. However, many of the outstanding issues should be <br /> addressed by the installation and operation of the proposed <br /> ground water extraction system. Therefore, the Department will <br /> allow the Modeling Report to become final without dispute. <br /> Additionally, the Department encourages Sharpe to proceed with <br /> installation of the ground water extraction wells as proposed in <br /> the Modeling Report. <br /> If you have any questions or comments regarding this matter, <br /> please contact me at (916) 255-3718. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Tracie L.
