The 2007 DDJC-Sharpe CRP is an updated version of the last Plan
finalized in March 2003. The goals of the CRP are to conduct proactive interactions
with stakeholders, promote open communication with surrounding community,
encourage public participation in environmental restoration decision making processes,
and providing various media outlets with information on the environmental restoration
activities. DTSC has reviewed the subject document and has the following comments:
Comments
1. The City of Lathrop demographics indicate that there is a large population of both
Hispanic and Asian residents living within the City of Lathrop city limits.
Historically, DDJC-Sharpe Fact sheets and Newsletters were only written in
English. DTSC recommends that future DDJC-Shape Fact Sheets and
Newsletters are written in both English and Spanish to allow the dissemination of
information to Spanish speaking residents. Additionally, if requested by the
community, DDJC-Sharpe should plan to translate the fact sheets and
newsletters into Tagalog or Philipino languages.
2. DTSC is aware of new housing developments being constructed both to the west
and south/southeast of DDJC-Sharpe. Residents living in these new housing
developments should be considered as part of the community and solicited for
9 Printed on Recycled Paper
