The report describes the soil, soil vapor, and groundwater
sampling activities at Defense Distribution Depot San Joaquin California (DDJC)-Sharpe
using Cone Penetrometer (CPT) and Hydropunch@ sampling methods. The report
presents the most recent data from 2008 CPT fieldwork activities and also includes the
analytical data and supporting information from four (4) previous work plans submitted
to the agencies for review and comment.
The intent of the CPT investigation is to provide additional data to update the
DDJC-Sharpe Conceptual Site Model, refine the fate and transport groundwater model,
and evaluate other response actions, including source area treatment. The source
removal actions will be documented in an Operable Unit 1 Record of Decision
Amendment planned for 2011.
DTSC recognizes that the CPT analytical data collected does not represent the same
hydro-geologic or contaminant conditions as would be observed with an appropriately
located, developed, and screened monitoring well, and more truly represents a
particular condition in space and time. The analytical CPT groundwater data should not
be combined or assimilated with the monitoring well program data as the two are not
® Printed on Recycled Paper
