BOX 2009, STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA 95201 <br /> Telephone: 209-466-6781 or 462-8526 <br /> PRELIMINARY INSTRUCTIONS FOR <br /> APPLICATION FOR AUTHORITY TO CONSTRUCT AND PERMIT TO OPERATE (EH 01 20) <br /> A. A filing fee is required for each application for AUTHORITY TO CONSTRUCT <br /> (applicable to new equipment installations) or PERMIT TO OPERATE (applicable <br /> to existing operations). The applicant will be billed by the District for <br /> the appropriate filing fee. <br /> B. A separate application is required for each distinct operation which consists <br /> in whole, or in part, of equipment, the use of which may cause the issuance <br /> of any air contaminant, for which emission limits have been established by <br /> the San Joaquin County Air Pollution Control District. Such an operation may <br /> consist of one individual piece of equipment, or a group of two or more items <br /> including air pollution control equipment. <br /> C. With each application for AUTHORITY TO CONSTRUCT and PERMIT TO OPERATE, the <br /> following data, specifications, plans and drawings must be submitted. <br /> 1 . E ui ent Location Drawing. The drawing or sketch submitted must be to <br /> scale suggested scale: 1 inch equals 100 feet; accuracy of measurements <br /> to the nearest 5 feet will be satisfactory) and must show at least the <br /> following: <br /> a. The property involved and outlines and heights of all buildings on it. <br /> Identify property lines plainly. <br /> b. Location and identification of the proposed equipment on the property. <br /> c. Location of the property with respect to streets and all adjacent <br /> properties. Identify adjacent properties. Show location of all buildings <br /> outside the property that are within 150 feet of the equipment involved <br /> in the application. Identify all such buildings (as residence, apartment <br /> house, machine slap, warehouse, etc. ) specifying height of each building <br /> (number of stories). Indicate direction (north) on the drawing. <br /> 2. Description of Equi ent. State make, model , size, and type for either the <br /> entire unit or for its major parts. <br /> 3. Description of Operation. The application must be accompanied by a written <br /> description of each operation to be carried out in the equipment. The <br /> descriptions must be complete and in detail concerning all operations. <br /> Particular attention must be given to explaining all stages of the operation <br /> where the discharge of any materials might contribute in any way to air <br /> pollution. All obtainable data must be supplied concerning the nature, <br /> volumes, particle sizes, weights, and concentrations of all types of air <br /> contaminants that may be discharged at each stage in the operations. <br /> Similarly, control procedures must be described in sufficient detail to show <br /> the extent of control of air contaminants anticipated in the design, <br /> specifying efficiency of the control devices. <br /> 9/84 <br />
