' 6.4 MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS <br /> All medical surveillance will be performed in accordance with 29 CFR 1910 120(f) <br /> Field activities will be conducted Monday through Friday from lam to 5pm, as requested by <br /> Navy personnel Field activities may be suspended during inclement weather <br /> 6.5 DECONTAMINATION AND DISPOSAL PROCEDURES <br /> 1 <br /> Specific decontamination procedures are based on the personal level of protection When a <br /> ' decontamination system is set up, one person has the responsibility for operating the decontamination <br /> station This person will make sure that all workers decontaminate properly and that the disposable <br /> ' items are bagged He or she will assist on-site workers in changing cartridges, masks, gloves, or <br /> other pieces of safety equipment, and monitor the length of work periods When using Level D <br /> protection, a personal decontamination system (PDS) is not set up However, because project <br /> personnel wearing Level D protection may need to upgrade to Level C as or if site conditions change, <br /> PDS may be established depending upon specific characteristics Decontamination procedures for <br /> Levels B, C, and D PPE are discussed in Attachment G <br /> 6.6 GENERAL FIRST AID PROCEDURES <br /> ' Dermal Exposure - Wash with soap immediately and rinse with copious amounts of clean water <br /> Watch for signs of skin irritation Seek medical attention at first signs of irritation <br /> Inhalation - Move the victim to fresh air Give artificial respiration, if necessary and appropriate <br /> ' Observe the victim for signs of shock Seek medical attention immediately <br /> ' Ingestion - CALL POISON CONTROL CENTER Seek immediate medical attention If possible, <br /> a sample of ingested material will be collected and transported to the hospital with the victim <br /> Detailed first aid procedures are given on the MSDSs in Attachment I <br /> CrO162 HSP 16 <br /> L <br /> 6 <br /> 044-0162UrATRI-05A5N3 <br />
