Most of the surficial lithology of The Great Valley Proviiaee consists of <br /> mar*the alluvium flood and delta plain deposits of two major rivers(the Sacramento to the north <br /> and the San Joaquin to the south) and tbanr tributaries,which account for approximately 40 percent <br /> of the total river discharge in California. <br /> 3.2 Site Geology <br /> The site property rests on Quaternary Alluvium Deposits(Qal) consisting of interbedded qty salads <br /> to sandy silts <br /> ' 3-3 Hydrogeology <br /> The site is located within the San Joaquin Basin Hydrologic Study Area. There are 26 groundwater <br /> basins in the study area The Sara Joaquin Valley covets 13,500 square miles and is the largest <br /> groundwater basin in the state The San Joaqum River drains most of the water in this basin The <br /> water bearing material consists of Younger and Older alluvium with a maximum thickness of 4,404 <br /> ' feet The well yields average 1,100 gpm, with a maximum yield of 3,200 gpm The site property <br /> crests new the north-eeatral section of the Eastern Sara Joaquin County Bann. This basin is bordered <br /> on the north by the Sacramento-San Joaqum county bxs and to the south by the San loaqum County <br /> ' hole and the Stanislaus River. The western boundary is the Sark Joaqum River and the southern <br /> boundary is designated by the edge of the alluvnim. <br /> S <br />
