k" KL [ IN FELDER
4.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELL
According to information supplied by the RWQCB, the depth to groundwater in the vicinity of
the site is between approximately 45 and 50 feet bgs with a northerly flow direction The
shallow A-zone reportedly occurs between 50 and 75 feet bgs Previous soil/groundwater data
collected on-site indicate elevated soil concentrations in boring B-1 and B-4 One groundwater
monitoring well will be installed adjacent to previous boring B-1 This monitoring well will be
drilled and Installed with 5 feet of screen above the water table and 15 feet of screen below If,
however, during the drilling, FID readings indicate potential contamination at depths greater than
15 feet below the water table, continued drilling may be required
The actual depth will depend on field observations during drilling The wells will be installed
according to Kleinfelder's typical field protocol described in Attachment B
The well(s) will be constructed using 2-Inch PVC and screened approximately 5 foot above and
15 feet below first groundwater Once the well(s) is installed, the top of the well will be
surveyed by a licensed surveyor so that depth-to-groundwater measurements in the well can be
converted to groundwater elevation used to assess groundwater gradients The monitoring well
will be installed at the conceptual location shown on Plate 1 Well construction, development
and field decontamination procedures are presented in Section B-3 of Kleinfelder's Field
. Protocol in Attachment B
41 Laboratory Analyses
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for the following
• TPH-Extractable as Diesel (by EPA Method 8015M)
• TPH as Kerosene (by EPA Method 8015M)
• TPH-Purgeable as Gasoline (by EPA Method 8015M)
• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Total Xylenes (BTEX)by EPA Method 8020
5.0 REPORTING
Upon completion of the soil and groundwater sampling, and receipt and review of analytical
results, a report of findings will be prepared for client review The report will include
• A description of field activities, observations, and protocols
• Tabulated results of soil and groundwater sampling with copies of certified analytical
laboratory results
• Boring logs,
• Map showing the sample/well locations,
40-Y P9179/40l OPO 19 5
Copyright 2000 Klcinfeldcr [nc
