The property owner of 3851 Newton Road has allowed temporary access to this
property for purposes of installation of monitoring wells.
During an October 20, 1993 meeting of the PHS/EHD Technical Review Committee (TRC) two
additional wells, a calculation of the amount of remaining soil contamination, and four quarters of
groundwater sampling were required by the TRC to evaluate the site for closure. Currently there is not
enough data to evaluate this site for closure. The site is located in an area where groundwater is the
source of drinking water.
The current workplan is for 5 borings three of which will be converted to monitoring wells. Data
obtained from implementation of the workplan should be sufficient to calculate the amount of remaining
soil contamination, and define the extent of the groundwater diesel plume at the current groundwater
depth of 59 feet. PHS/EHD approves the February 23, 1996 Upgradient workplan provided that all
work be completed as required by the adjacent property owner's access agreement.
For additional information, please contact Steven Sasson at (209) 468-3459.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
/kZ1sae'/niorEHS Marg reVLago io,IRE
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
SS
cc: CVRWQCB - Elizabeth Thayer
SWRCB - Mel Jacobo
Upgradient Environmental Consultants - Vic Chervin
Carmen Bardot
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
