The groundwater is currently above the screen
interval of all monitoring wells at the above referenced site. The analytical result of the water
sample collected from GT-4 on August 16, 1996 was 1,730,000 parts per billion (ppb) Total
Petroleum Hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d), and the analytical result of the soil sample collected
on November 13, 1990 was 18,000 parts per million (ppm)TPH-d. There was also presence of
aromatic hydrocarbon contamination in the soil samples collected from GT-1, GT-3, and GT-4,
and in the water samples collected from GT-1 through GT-4. The deepest soil analytical data of
the site was taken from GT-3 at 85 feet bsg. The vertical delineation of the contamination has not
been completed. Historically depth to groundwater in the area has been as great as 120 feet bsg
according to 1978 San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District
groundwater level survey.
It was discussed that two additional monitoring wells, properly screened, are required in order to
complete the vertical delineation of the contamination, to calculate the mass of the contamination,
and to investigate the groundwater above the existing monitoring well screen intervals. A 2000
feet radius well and receptor survey will be conducted to evaluate potential risk to local
groundwater supply. A fate and transport model will be constructed using soil physical property
data(permeability, dry bulk density, porosity, moisture, and organic carbon content, at minimum)
obtained during the above-mentioned monitoring well installation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jeffrey Wong at(209)468-0335.
Donna Heran, RENS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Jeffrey Wong , EHS, Trainee =rerLagono, REHS
LOP/Site Mitigation Unit IV Supervisor
c: RWCCB, Central Valley Region -Mark List
c: Upgradient Environmental -Victor Cherven
